Ready for the new school term? We are!
The Dynamic Earth Learning Service is ready to launch and we can’t wait for you to get involved. Learning should be based around discovery and exploration and that’s why we’ve created a new programme jam-packed with engaging indoor and outdoor workshops.
Our exciting Learning Experience is flexible, designed around the Curriculum of Excellence and tailored to children and young people from the ages of three to 18 years of age. We’ve made sure to cover a wide range of subjects, and our workshops are led by experienced outdoor learning officers and highly qualified science communication professionals.
For early years and primary schools, workshops focus on interdisciplinary learning and storytelling activities, helping little ones to understand science, space and the big wide world!
Whereas our secondary school workshops celebrate cooperative learning and critical thinking, encouraging our future young adults to analyse, question and solve the big issues surrounding our planet.
But not only that, we inspire adventure! At Dynamic Earth, we’re all about embracing outdoor learning and giving young people the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors in a safe, structured environment. And with an extinct volcano on our doorstep, there couldn’t be a more perfect location! Children in primary four and upwards can explore Arthur’s Seat and the natural environment surrounding it. From weather and wildlife, to plate tectonics and field skills, we cover it all!
You can also come along to our special events throughout the year, including our Science Careers Showcase in September and Scotland-wide festival outreach programmes, Phew, we’re going to be busy bees!
And if you’re a teacher looking to expand and develop your own skills then we’ve got you covered too! We have a number of indoor and outdoor workshops available, as well as a bunch of helpful resources to support your Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Are you as excited as we are, yet?
