Our world is changing and with the knowledge and expertise of environmental scientists we can investigate how and why this is happening, and what the future may hold. To celebrate the amazing wonders of amazing environmental research, the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres has partnered with the Natural Environment Research Council to deliver exciting and engaging activities for families at Science Centres throughout the UK. From February 2018, Dynamic Earth is one of eleven science centres throughout the UK that will deliver this exciting new national science engagement programme.
‘Operation Earth’ invites families to explore the fascinating world of environmental science and find out how the work of organisations such as the Natural Environment Research Council are leading the way in helping us understand the world around us, how it’s changing and what impact this will have. Throughout February – October 2018, families will have the opportunity to take part in exciting hands-on activities, experiments, a family science show and meet the expert sessions focussing on exploring and investigating our natural environment.
Keep an eye on our What’s On? Calendar for our full family learning programme throughout 2018, and all our Operation Earth programme and events.
Thanks to some special funding, we’re also delighted to bring Operation Earth to a variety of Regional Science Festivals throughout Scotland in 2018. Our team will look forward to seeing you at:
- Caithness Science Festival (Science O3)
- Dumfries and Galloway Science Festival
- The Scottish Borders Science Ferstival
- Aberdeen Science Festival (TechFest)
- Orkney International Science Festival
- Midlothian Science Festival
We’ll look forward to welcoming you to Dynamic Earth, or seeing you at a science festival in 2018.
