Operation Earth

Operation Earth is a national programme that will engage, inspire and involve children and their families with NERC’s world-leading environmental science through an exciting family science show, drop-in activities, and ‘Meet the Scientist’ events. Dynamic Earth is one of eleven science centres in partnership with the Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) that will deliver this exciting new programme throughout the UK.

Family Science Show

Become a trainee environmental scientist and help Earthy on their trip to the doctor in our family science show. Investigate Planet Earth’s land, air, and oceans and see if together we can find solutions to Earthy’s problems.

Drop-In Activities

Get hands-on with science with our interactive family drop-in activities. Intrepid explorers can investigate the microscopic world, pilot a drone using simulator software, sample wildlife in our indoor meadow and much more!

Meet the Scientist

Meet real environmental scientists and find out what it’s like to do their job. Discover how they are working to understand how Planet Earth is changing and what impacts that may have in the future.

Keep an eye on our What’s On Calendar for our full family learning programme throughout 2018, and all our Operation Earth programme and events.
